Torule out problems with your mini-lab, shoot a test roll of your
favorite slide film. If you've very confident in your technique (i.e.
be sure you have some indoor tripod mounted shots at optimum aperture
for a baseline), and there's still a lack of sharpness, you somehow
picked up a bad sample.
On the other hand, if your slides look as sharp as they should, you
need to have a talk with your one hour lab.
