I've had an OM3 since 1993 and very seldom remember replacing the batteries. I
keep
thinking that the batteries will go bad when I'm out in the field so I carry
several spares
in the bag. Can't even remember replacing the batteries in the field. I have
an OM2s and
and OM4. Can't see any significant drain on either one of them, but I would
think the OM4 &
OM2s requires batteries more often. I would estimate under heavy use I get a 2
months out
of the batteries. I know when I keep the flashes on and connected to the
cameras it can
cause faster battery drain. Sometimes this will happen when shooting in the
studio. I will
get called away and forget to turn things off. But nothing significant to
report. At $4.00
a change the batteries are the least expensive consumable in photography. I
notice that the
batteries last pretty well in the winders also. In the flashes? forget it.
That's why I
like to use those ac adapters.
I could not imagine worrying about the battery drain in the OM3.
