Hey, the simplest way, at least for speeds faster than 1/60 is to
take a picture of your TV screen. NTSC (US, Canada, Japan) has 525
lines every 30th of a second, so each line is
6.34920634920634920634920634920635e-5 seconds. Just count the lines.
1/1000 should be 15.75 lines, 1/250 63 lines
You could also use your computer monitor using its refresh rate &
resolution.
