Recently I was going through some of my old magazines circa 1980-84 and kept
noticing all of
the OM product advertsing. Tons of it. Chery Tiggs (early supermodel) was the
spokesperson
for the OM10. Olympus America was spending major marketing bucks back then
hawking their OM
line especially in the photo and men's magazines. I just think that is very
interesting. By
today's standard they would be advertising as much as Nikon or Canon. Also
I've noticed
that Nikon no longer markets it's very close-up high magnification macro lens.
It seems
there is no known competition for Zuikos 20mm Macro, 38mm Macro, 135mm Macro
and even the
80mm/4.0 Macro. Am I correct on this?
Also has anyone used both the Nikon F3 and the OM3. Since I've been borrowing
idle sitting
fisheye lenses (for VR) from the owner of the studio. I was thinking about
getting a Nikon
body so that I don't always have to borrow one to use with these lenses. He's
got an F3 in
almost mint condition for $500. I just wonder if I will enjoy using it as much
as my OM3, by
for the best body I've ever shot with. Dependable and Rugged. I hardly ever
carry a spare
body when I plan to shoot with the OM3. I've been told that the F3 is as
dependable. Any
comments. Would I be banned from this list if I started using a F3 alongside my
beloved OM?
