I have a really nice LaCie CD-RW (6x4x16) which contains a Yamaha engine I
believe. It works well with my Mac (SCSI interface needed of course if you
don't use a Mac). It came with Toast, DirectCD and Retrospect software. I
wasted 6 CDs until I realised that my hard drive was too slow to support the
speed of the writer. The HDD was trashed and the new one works fine.
