Catmaster and Samuel,
I too, had an experience with an "off" brand (JVC, also) CD "burner.
I almost stopped using it because of the high "coaster-factor". I
purchased an HP 8210i and the problems with coasters went down to about
3-5% which I can live with. There are other good brands out there I'm
sure, but I trust HP because it works for me and other people that I
know.
Rand E.
OBTW, it comes with adaptec software also.
