All,
Below is the note I received from Olympus Japan this morning regarding
future updates of the ES-10 scanner software.
I'm angry about this -- while the scanner may be "old tech" to Olympus, it
is only three months old as far as I'm concerned. If Olympus is going to
continue to allow this thing to be sold as new equipment, it seems to me
that they should have some moral if not legal obligation to support it for
longer than they have. A twenty five year old OM-1 I can understand, but a
scanner that their resellers are still actively marketing not being
supported is a bunch of crap.
For those of you that have been wondering if you should buy one, don't! Or
if you do, buy mine!
