Not necessarily. It depends on what you're shooting. The "wierd effects"
you're talking about is the gradated blue of the sky if you've got it all
the way across the frame in the horizontal format. As the angle of view
from the sun changes, so does the amount of polarization. If you a) only
have the sky in part of the frame, or b) are shooting vertically, the 24
shows no uneven sky.
