yes, george, you misunderstood. look at my feedback on ebay, i have
always paid for something i was high bidder on. several times my high
bid didn't meet reserve, so there was no sale. i will do whatever it
takes to complete the deal if i am high bidder. sometimes i bid to find
out what someone's reserve is, but never more than i'm willing to pay.
once, i backed out because i had won a lens shade but not the lens, so
i suggested that the seller contact the high bidder on the lens and
offer it to him. he did, and the bidder bought the shade too. i don't
know why they were listed separately, but they were.

as far as i know, this is a free country and anyone is allowed to bid
on anything for whatever reason that pleases them. how and why someone
bids is really no one else's business.
Be seeing you.
