It may be limiting in some ways - you miss those 300mm wildlife shots and
sweeping wideangle vistas - but it's about removing many of the decisions we
often make and allowing a certain 'purity' of seeing (if that's an
appropriate word). It's not only the cheapest lens in the range, it's
usually the fastest and most versatile single focal length. I hope that
other contributors will have found it liberating to think more about looking
for images than the weight of their bag.
