: I assumed the flash was trigered by a ground switch like the OM-1. Why
: would Olympus design a feature where if you batteries went dead you could
: fire at bulb or 60th (red) but the flash would not fire. (not worring about
: TTL) It behoves me.
Unlike the OM-1(n) and OM-3(Ti), the OM-4(Ti) can't trigger the flash when you
_remove_ the batteries. However, at the moment the OM-4(Ti) gives up on a set of
batteries, because the power is too low to feed all its electronics, there still
is plenty of energy in the batteries to trigger the flash (or to feed an OM-2!).
Of course it won't work in TTL mode, but manual or computer flash should still
work fine with 'empty' batteries, fired from the hot shoe or the PC bus.
