IMHO every lens deserves a hood. Also IMO, the biggest mistake one can make
is screwing a Skylight/UV filter in front of a high quality (or lesser
quality too for that matter) optic and leaving it there permanently while
foregoing the lens shade. It's kinda like plastic wrapping a chair or sofa.
What are we saving it for. After all a hood is pretty fair protection.
My problem is with getting lens cap on, so I was intrigued by Skip's use of
the 55mm cap in the front of the 85 hood. But I still curse Olympus for not
design a better hood/cap system.
