I'm going to get up on my soapbox, so look out. Don't misunderstand me, I
still LOVE my OM system (all 5 bodies and 15+ lenses), but there are facts
everyone should face:
You should assume that Olympus is going to let the OM system die a very
slow death. IMO, there will be NO new Pro-level body, NO Autofocus, and
only if we are lucky, a few more lenses. It's clear the Olympus is making
their stand on P&S and mid-market Digital. As mentioned several times
recently, they are not foolish enough to try and jump 3 generations of AF
experience from Canon, Nikon, Minolta, and Pentax to field a competitive AF
camera setup. They aren't even going to go the way of the Leica R8, with
it's snail's pace release schedule, cost-no-object quality, and boutique
focus. The only other way to go would be the Contax route, which kept the
Zeiss MF lenses, and added the Rube Goldbergish
autofocus-by-moving-the-film-plane camera (is the AX?). The only reason
that Contax survives is that Kyocera is pumping money and technology at the
line from their other semiconductor and ceramics businesses. Olympus isn't
going there.
So let's all just enjoy our great, durable equipment, and lament over
features-wanted-but-not-available with a tongue-in-cheek attitude.
<putting the soapbox away>
There.... I feel much better.
(I feel like a dinosaur somedays with my MF Olympus and Leica-M setups, but
my pictures come out head and shoulders above all my friends, so I don't
worry about it.)

I think if you took a poll of most Olympus Users , I said most would like
to see Olympus come out with a PRO - AUTO focus. Yes I said PRO-Auto focus.
A Volkswagen and a Corvette do the same thing , point "A "to point "B" , but
wouldn't it be nice to have all that power underneath that right foot from
time to time and for some the left!
