I believe that's how it works. You have to fit it into an adaptor to
download, at least, and possibly also to change settings. This is not
so much a problem as it seems, since there is no reason not to open
the back, unlike when you have real film loaded!
Not to mention power requirements... I don't see where the
battery would fit.
Note that Imagek is using a CMOS sensor, which uses vastly less power
than CCD devices. (Although you couldn't tell it by the battery-heavy
ViviCam 3100 that I have.) I'l imagine they can power the thing
easily enough with a small lithium camera battery.
