I'm assuming it was an older pre-1990 lens.  If the lens cap was original
to the lens then Jena (near Dresden) means the DDR.  I think you mentioned
it was originally bought (?) in France.  That would make sense.  By the
time the OM system came out VEB CZ Jena products could not be legally
retailed in the U.S. using "Carl Zeiss" in any part of the trademark.
