The mount is the mechanics that get aligned with the celestial pole. Mounts
tend to be very large and heavy; at least good ones are. Guiding is the
process of making tiny adjustments during the exposure as the mount tracks
across the sky. With a fixed 50mm lens, at mid-latitudes, stars will begin
to trail in about 20 seconds, with a 35mm lens, trailing begins in about 30
seconds.
