Coma is a lens defect caused by spherical abberation mainly. It causes
point sources, like stars, to be rendered as comet-shaped rather than
tiny circular dots.
Er, I wouldn't try testing it on our star, more likely someone else's.
Perhaps the one belonging to those guys Doris met one night. :>)
