Actually I did most of my driving around narrow european streets in an
M557 APC with a battery of 8" howitzers (C 1/94 FA). Makes even the
Hummer look petite. Getting out of Darby Kaserne in a alert was always
an adventure. We (usually the howitzers) almost always did damage to
something (torn up cobbles, clipped mirrors, large gouges in paint, an
occasional VW, etc.).

The Battery Commander had the M151 and it was a delight. This was
before they derated the engine and it could really move. Somehow we
never turned it over, even at Grafenwoeher (sp?).
(token Photo content) I had a Yashica Atoron that I used in the field
since it would fit in my shirt pocket. I had a Kowa SLR that was just
too bulky to take on field duty. THe OM hadn't been made yet and I
couldn't afford a Pen F on buck Sgts pay.
