Since there was a thread recently on digital photography, and since Oly is
on the forefront, I thought I would make the following comments...
I s*u*b*s*c*r*i*b*e to Nikon's 'Nikon World Portfolio' (a stripped-down 'Vision
Age). For anyone not familiar with it, it has a few portfolios, and a few
puff pieces on whatever new products Nikon is coming out with. The Spring
99 issue features a 'review' of the Nikon Coolpix 950. According to the
article, it can produce a file of 1600 x 1200 pixels, which can easily
produce photos of 11x14 or even 24" x 36".
Then you see the seven photos used to illustrate how great the camera is.
Yeccchhh! The largest is 3.5 x 5.5". The colors are WAY off and the shadow
detail is non-existant. In fact, they plain SUCK!
If this is the future of digital, count me out!
