Joel, leaving not a stone unturned in the quest for finding excellence in the
OM system . . . :-)
I did a bench test on the exposure meter and shutter of a OM-2000. It has
LR44's installed and was 1/3 stop off (ISO 100 = E.I. 125). That slight
tweaking gets me metering within 1/3 stop tolerance over the six stop range
of the test equipment. Without the film speed dial tweaking, typical
daylight (f/16 1/125th at ISO 125) would be dead on, but I would have been
2/3rd stops off at f/4 1/125th light levels. For others, your mileage may
vary.
The shutter checked out slow at 1/2000 (more like 1/1200), 1/3rd stop off at
1/125th and accurate elsewise. Next time I check cameras I'll try this with
fresh 357 's.
