The camera sounds like a good deal. If your determined to have the top
cover replaced, maybe you can find an authorized Olympus shop in your
country that still has new tops in stock (they are long unavailable here in
the US). New style 2S tops have a "stretched" prism area which is 2mm
higher than an old top. This allows more room inside for components as the
top is being pressed down.
I don't recommend trying to change the top yourself due to the complications
often found when trying home repairs.
