The timeless classics are always a solid foundation. Adams and Karsh should
certainly be there. I'd also cast a vote for the works of Dorthea Lange.
She mixed photojournalism and art in a remarkable way. Her work was also
done in a time when a "proper lady" just didn't do such things. Studying
the art and craft of another woman may prove inspirational to her.
