Hi,
Thanks for the reply, as this message might be interesting to other list
members too (and as they may have some useful input), I decided to send it
both directly to you, and to the list. Some specific questions/comments:

Once the mount is open, are there any parts coming loose that are difficult
to get back in place (given the fact that my tools are pretty much limited
to a few screwdrivers)?

Thanks, it sounds like it's not too dangerous to attempt this "repair"
myself, right? If this is correct, can you (or somebody else) maybe give me
a short procedure for how to tackle this?
For now I assume the following:
-Unscrew the 3 cross head screws in the mount
-Unscrew the tiny screw that is located on the "inner-side" of the mount
-Mount is now loosened and can be taken apart?
-Take care with the DOF preview button and the button for releasing the lens
from the camera.
Is this pretty much correct, or am I overlooking something important?
Also, how about the types of screws etc. that are used inside the lens (i.e.
what types are they), and are there any parts that are likely to get
rocketed away because they're springloaded? Any other pitfalls?
Cheers!
Olafo
