To continue to beat this to death- To those who are misquoting me -
go back and read what I was saying about temperature being bad- WHICH IT IS-
but the context I was using it was with regard to SHOCK, bumping or moving
the projector while the bulb (filament is actually what we are concerned
with) is still hot. Moving or jostling- such as putting it back in it's box-
is BAD. That shock is what will break the hot filament, and THAT is why I was
supporting the idea to cool the bulb (filament) with the fan only switch.
Even if you could discipline yourself to leave the projector alone for an
hour after the slideshow- you know what really happens in the real world- you
forget, or, more likely- someone will come along and "help" you by putting
the projector away, etc.
Again- what I was saying is a fact- Hot filament + shock = more
likely to break. You can debate the fan switch ad nauseum, but it was put
there for a reason. Choose to use it or not.
