It was I who posted this, and it is true enough indeed.
It actually is a good reason to put four NiCads in the Power Pack 2,
which give only 5 volts instead of 6....
In my special Olympus Power Packs 2 powered with lead gel batteries
(giving 6.5 volts rather than 6.0) a 3 Amp series diode is installed
too. Maybe I should put in a second one...
