Yes on manual on every camera that I have ever owned they will fire the flash
at any shutter
speed, but it will still only sync with the shutter at the speed that the
shutter is wholly open.
I wish they'd fix that!!! ;-)
OM's use the battery to fire the flash and shut down the circuit to the flash
mount on Auto unless
it goes below 1/60th.
