any subject farer than 4 focal lenghts from film plane has 2 focuses at
different magnifications. If you put a subject at 400mm from film plane
you'd get only one focus with any 100mm lens (and life-size magnification).
The 2 magnifications you get are exactly each 1/ of the other.
I believe the auto tube is to long for the 50mm and too short for the 200 mm
for letting you have both focuses within its range.
