Thanks, I had pretty well concluded the Vivitar's must be auto tubes as putting any one of the three between an auto lens and the body does not change the lens/body behavior at all. But never having seen or used one, I didn't know if there was something I was missing. The several replies confirmed my suspicions . . . they are indeed "auto." And now for something completely different . . . I noted that my tubes have virtually 100 0ght transmission (no spiders) and it was impossible to get any of them to exhibit flare . . . or distortion. Measured them without any lens on front as I didn't want lens performance to skew tube performance. Allegedly the glass in them is a very secret formulation developed by the same guy who once sold clothing to Kings. -- John < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > |
