Hi Gary,
I think this is a good idea, especially as my first batch of slides,
testing the best and worst lenses based on laser wiggles, show virtually no
difference between the OM-2S and OM-1! According Mr. Laser, the 50/3.5
macro looked to have terrible bucking on the OM-1, but the slides at 1/30
to 1/2 sec are incredibly sharp. Furthermore, MLU and mirror/aperture
prefire did not produce discernably sharper results than using a cable
release. My eyes are quite good, but I simply may not have the means or
the loupe power to make the kind of distinctions that you are using in your
tests. On the other hand, I can't dislike what I am seeing either!
I'll work up a post on this with greater explanation of what I did for
everybody, and work out the details for getting my camera to you off-list.
