|The testresults on www.photodo.com site for the Canon showed this as their

|this is almost too good to be true, the Zuiko being at least 12 years older

Hi Ulf,
I'm replying late because I don't log in everyday anymore.
The test result comparing the Canon 200/1.8 and Zuiko 250/2 was
conducted some years back. (I would probably have to conduct a search
on DejaNews or such to rediscover that test result.)
The one I saw was NOT done by a major magazine or organization but by
a user, a pro, I believe. I had known at the time that the 200/1.8
was Canon's best, so I was particularly impressed by the findings,
especially since I thought the Zuiko 180/2 might be even better! The
test proceedings were not given, just the final result---that the
Zuiko 250/2 had graded out better than any other manufacturer's lens
tested. It was not clearly stated whether the 250/2 had been compared
against other Zuikos.
I see that Gary is "threatening" to test a Canon 200/1.8. Perhaps his
results can serve to confirm or refute the earlier finding. :-)
|If the Photodo testings are the same as for the now renamed/defunct swedish
|photomag Aktuell Fotografi (which I think it is), the sharpest lens tested
|prior to the Canon was the Tamron 90/2.5 macro. As we all know, the Zuiko
|90/2 equals or surpasses the Tamron, so IOW the Zuiko 90/2 is another
|super-superstar, unfortunately not tested at Photodo.
