Yes, fewer people will participate. I for one am much less
likely to submit photos to a voting contest than I am to a collection.
I am a very competitive person and generally like competition...so I
suspect there are a number of other people out there who like
competition less than I do who are even LESS likely to submit to a
voting contest.

Yes, but it seems that in this case the "getting hurt" possibilities
should be limited where ever we can.
Anyway, I didn't mean to turn this into a "hot topic", I just wanted
to express the thought that we might be better serving ourselves by
making it less of a contest.
