I dumped a Minolta XD11 based system with several lenses around 1986 and bought an OM4 with Tokina ATX 28-85 as my sole lens. I couldn't affort to replace all the Minolta lenses with OM lenses at the time, so the zoom was the compromise. I made the brand switch after being disappointed with the Minolta's build quality and susceptibility to dirt. I hoped the Olympus equipment would be of higher quality, and I was not disappointed. My OM4 still functions as reliably as it did when new. I'm also still happy with that Tokina zoom too, but have been able to add some Zuikos to the armamentarium now that more money is available!
