First, thanks to Gary R on these tests, I did love to read the Tamron 400/4
results :-)

I wouldn't do that and won't do it either, the SP outperformed the Zuiko
wideopen and the widest apertures, this is where I use mine for 99 0f the
shots. I'll keep on using my SP 1.4X.

If there happens to be that much light, maybe. Then again, a heavy and big
telelens is supposed to be used wide-open, I guess it's the whole point.
