As a rule of thumb, you can always count on relatively a lot more being in
focus *beyond* than ahead of your focal point.
But I doubt that there's a nickle's worth of difference between 1/2 mile
and infinity even with the 200mm, and even at f5. But when in doubt and if
it's really important, shoot it at f16 or smaller.
