Methinks you're mistaking fall-off for vignetting in the case of the
Hologon. It is part of the design (and fall-off is rather commonplace
in even the most expensive zooms out to f/5.6-8) compromises, and is also
found in remarkable amounts in lenses like the Leitz Noctilux and the 47mm
Super Angulon as well.
