Maybe the same as what happened to my IS-10, maybe not. Did your friend take
a flash shot, then noticed it wasn't working for the next one? My IS-10 was 3
days old, I took a flash shot and the flash was extremely bright and
white-blue is the only way I could describe it. Like the time I cut a live
(obviously I thought it was dead) 110 volt wire with my pliers. A BIG flash!
Anyway, the flash was burnt out and Olympus fixed it in as I remember, less
than 2 weeks. I think your friend's camera needs a trip to Dr. John.
