If my memory is correct some guy in the uk was selling this type of junk as
the real thing
at open air markets and auction type scams and made a lot of money, alas
the long arm of 
law caught up with him.
As for the aerodynamic design, well it has one advantage,...it hits the
ground that much
faster.
