Several people have mentioned the ready/confirm light. There is an additional
difference that could be considered a loss or a gain, depending on the
circumstance.
The OM-2 releases the 2nd curtain when sufficient light has accumulated for
exposure, the OM-2N and later release the 2nd curtain immediately on firing
a T flash, regardless of whether enough light has accumulated. The OM-2
behavior is better for fill flash, but results in more unsalvagable shots
when flash was the primary source and was insufficient. Apparently, 2N and
later can be modified to 2 behavior if the ready light connection is
blocked, since they use that as a cue for the presence of a T flash.
