Wow, what a treatise. I'm humbled at my previous chicken scratch.
I'll add that I also used an OM-2S as my main camera for 12 years, with
occasional CLA's. It succumbed to (probably) the dirty ISO contact post
problem. Instead of just getting another expensive CLA, I just watched for a
replacement. Landed one in Jefferson City, MO. The 9+ condition beauty had a
chrome OM-1 rewind knob on it, but I just swapped the one from the unreliable
camera and I'm back in business with a 1000M-2S. I must admit that I like
it more than an OM-4, after having used an OM-4 for 9 months. I surprised
myself at how little I used multi-spot metering. I'm too used to an OM-2S,
where I could average a highlight and shadow spot reading in my head faster
than pressing the buttons on an OM-4!
Viva la OM-2S, a.k.a OM-2 Spot/Program.
