In the recent thread about going on safari, I casually remarked
that one can avoid all the X-ray hassles by Fed-exing film ahead
to yourself. I have done it before, and did so at the advice of
pros I trust. Of course, the usual doubting Thomas wanted more proof
than my mere word, and lo, in my just-arrived-today Pop Photo...
on page 54 there it is:
" Federal Express: They do not use X-Ray devices and assert that
no X-ray damage will be done to photographic film shipped within
the U.S. OR ABROAD. " They go on to say that one should label the package
as film, do not X-Ray, etc.
It is a good article on dodging X-rays 7 travel...
