A number of the larger on-line book sellers have out-of-print
book services that search numerous used book shop databases for
out of print books. I've used the service at amazon.com for this
with good results. The prices aren't quite as good as finding
the book at a used shop on your own, but most used shops aren't
on-line on their own.
I have seen Shipman show up from time to time at Powell's
Technical Books in Oregon, http://www.powells.com/ They do have
their entire used catalog on-line, almost as addictive as buying
camera gear :-)
