Since I have not heard from any volunteers who own an Epson photo printer so
that we can compare print outputs from an identical file between the two
printers, the Alps MD-1300 and the Epson Photo, I am reposting my request.
Although this is preferable that you have Photoshop, it is not mandatory. I can
send a testpict file on a Zip disk if you are a PC owner. You do not have to be
an expert in optimizing the file, because the objective is to print out from an
IDENTICAL FILE without any alteration. I have not seen an Epson print from
those photo printers on Epson glossy paper although I have seen one on photo
grade paper.
As for the news Matthias Wilke posted regarding the European operation of Alps,
I don't know what that means. Alps is not an American hardware manufacturer as
the news states. It is a Japanese manufacturer. At the moment, it appears that
the MD-5000 is doing well in the US. Its price is dropping and it is considered
to be a hot product.
Please contact me off list if you are interested in the print comparison.
