The original message from Monday, February the 8th is:
Alps Europa zieht sich aus Druckermarkt
zurück.
Mit sofortiger Wirkung zieht sich der
US-amerikanische Hardwarehersteller Alps aus dem
europäischen Druckermarkt zurück. Die gesamte
Produktpalette ist nicht mehr erhältlich, der neue
Thermosublimationsdrucker MD-5000 soll nicht, wie
ursprünglich geplant, eingeführt werden. Alps
gewährt auch künftig technische Unterstützung für
Kunden im Rahmen der Garantiezeit. Auch
Reparaturfälle sollen abgewickelt werden. Alps wird
weiterhin in Europa Computer-Peripherie wie
Tastaturen, Switches und Adapter vertreiben. Einen
Grund für den Rückzug aus dem Druckermarkt
nannte das Unternehmen nicht.
The whole printer product range will not be available in the nearest future
in Europe, among others the new MD-5000. Technical support in the warranty
time will be available and also repair possibilities. Alps will still
deliver other computer peripheral products in Europe. They didn't tell
reasons for this decision.
