Hi,

to avail

In a twisted way I disagree here, since attracting everyone's attention to
these items for me works counterproductive, as I have been waiting for quite
a while until some specific lenses and an OM-4T(i) appear on e-Bay, that
_do_ have a reasonable price, however, everytime I've noticed that prices
get rocketed sky-high (or at least well beyond the price I actually want to
pay for these items) on e-Bay. Partially this is due to "insensible" (i.e.
premature) bidding, days before the auction closes, but I now guess this is
also because each time the really nice items are screened by hordes of OM
fanatics (like me) - and if they aren't already screening them, someone will
attract _everyone's_ attention to them :(((
Anyway, I'm new to this list, but joining it, already made me realise that
this way I will NEVER find a real steal on e-Bay, so I might as well stop
checking e-Bay for OM items...:(((((
Luckily enough I did run into a reputable e-Bay dealer that manages to get
me nice stuff for affordable prices, though :)
The last off topic thing I want to say about this is the following
conclusion:
Everyone over here is very aware of the existence of e-Bay, so everyone
should be able to find their desired Olympus gear there, so please let's not
spoil the auctions for people who do not have thousands of dollars sitting
around on a bank account waiting to be spent on Oly gear. I do, however,
think it's an excellent idea to make people aware of good offers in local
camera shops, because that might actually be the only way some people could
benefit from such offers.
Just my 2 cents though, so now I'll try to refrain from any further
off-topic mails...
Cheers!
Olaf
