Ok, i did test it, and my initial suspicion was right. When hooking up a
mechanical cable release to my
OM4T, even without depressing the shutter, the viewfinder remained lit. This
explains the dying of the
batteries in 24 hours (instead of their very long one week life :-) ) .
I dont know if its just my type of cable release (Hama) or all cable releases,
but it seems its wise to
take them out when not in continuous use.
