Full, accurate responses are also in the archives. To recap, only the two
surfaces of the multicoated filter have their % transmittance increased (=
reflections decreased) over what would be expected from single coated
surfaces. The surfaces of the glass lens elements continue to transmit the
same. The net result is WORSE (albeit marginally) for flare than if you had
NO FILTER at all, since you are increasing the air to glass surfaces with the
inclusion of a filter.
