approximate its date of manufacture and if it's MC or SC.
The number up front is 116106
It also has the 'silver-edged' front rings unlike the all-black 24s shown
in my '85 (by which time, per the book, all 24s were MC) OM sys lens
handbook..
I suspect this tattoos it as an older lens
fwiw, it does throw a nice purple-blue reflection off the front glass, but
I suspect both SC and MC will bounce back a bit of color thanks to the
anti-reflective coat.

This is the data I have on the 24/2.8:
113994 Chrome SC
116100 Chrome SC
140037 Black MC
143400 Black SC
145300 Black SC
160293 Black SC
174440 Black SC
185300 Black MC
187087 Black MC
211000 Black MC
218300 Black MC
This seems to indicate that the 24/2.8 went from SC to MC somewhere between
174440 and 185300. As for sample 140037 - this may be a case of misidentified
coatings or perhaps the front ring was replaced as part of a repair, changing
the S/N (pure speculation on my part).
This also seems to indicate a change from the chrome nose to the black nose
between 116100 and 140037.
I would suspect that yours is SC (again, pure speculation).
