Or to put it another way, work with your image in TIFF or some other non-lossy
format while you are making adjustments, and only save as a JPG when you are
ready to save the final image. You can save as often as you like in TIFF or
other bitmapped formats with no loss of quality. If space is not a problem,
keeping a high res TIFF/PSD and a lower res JPG version of the same image is
probably the best solution.
