There was no "Year 0". According to the Julian and then Gregorian Calenders,
the year before 1 AD was 1 BC. This of course after the Church established the
calender years by trying to place the birth of Christ in 1 AD. So 1-100 AD is
first century, 101 to 200 AD is second century ... 1901 to 2000 is twentieth
century... 2001-2100 is twenty first century AND 2001-3000 is the third
millinium.
