Hi Angel:
> Both lenses MC ?
Yes, since, as you already know, I have one of the much rarer 200mm f/5
multicoated lenses. The only SC vs. MC test I am presently doing is the 50mm
f/1.8. I could see doing a 85mm SC vs. MC test (I'd need an MC example on
loan), since the optical design changed. But I can't tell the minor
differences in contrast expected from an SC vs. MC of the same optical design.
Since I do the tests in darkened rooms with the subject lite by two floodlamps
and lens hoods on or extended, I have nothing to conclude with regards to
flare. And subject contrast is too subtile to quantify. (Note I've stated
when there seems to be a significant difference, but its effect on image
quality is already incorporated in the subjective SQL rating).
Another comment on infinity testing. All the shots are on tungsten film:
Fujichrome 64T. I need to hold the type of film constant so as not to
confound the tests with different emulsions.
Someday I might have the motivation to determine resolution values from the
set of slides. But I don't see me having the time for quite a while! Nor do
I have easy access to a microscope.
